Nara Palace Site Historical Park

Nara Palace Site Historical Park is a national park located at the Special Historic Site Heijokyu-seki. Part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara World Heritage site, it opened in 2008 with the objective of preserving and utilizing the Nara Palace Site as one of the country’s prototypical historic and cultural assets.

The park has yet to be fully opened while personnel conduct archaeological excavations and develop facilities based on current use and the location’s unique characteristics.
